VELOSIT® RM 205

Structural concrete repair mortar R4

Product Description

VELOSIT® RM 205 is a cementitious repair material that is mixed with water to become an R4 structural repair mortar according to EN 1504-3. It is a fibre reinforced, shrinkage compensated and offers high early strength development. It produces a repair that is dimensionally stable, integrally bonded to the concrete substrate, durable and abrasion resistant with advanced corrosion inhibitors. This product is formulated to be RCS (respirable crystalline silica) free and is manufactured using dust reduction technology.

Typical Applications

  • Structural repair of small patches or large surface area defects from 6 to 100 mm thickness
  • It is suitable to be applied in vertical, overhead and horizontal orientations
  • Repair of honeycombing and spalled concrete.
  • Overlays and repair of concrete structures like dams, bridges, beams, balconies and concrete facades
  • Can be extended with aggregate and used as a micro concrete for thicknesses over 100 mm.
  • May be used for repair of concrete structures in accordance with EN 1504 Principles of 3. Concrete restoration, 4. Structural strengthening and 7.
  • Preserving or restoring passivity to EN 1504-9.
  • Suitable for use in concrete structures classified under AS 3600 exposure categories A1, A2, B and C. For structures in exposure category D, this mortar may be used when incorporated into a system that provides additional protection appropriate for environments with elevated chemical or aggressive exposure.

Features

  • Shrinkage compensated to minimize the risk of micro-cracking.
  • Fibre reinforced to increase impact & abrasion resistance & durability.
  • Advanced corrosion inhibitor technology.
  • Hydrophobic when cured to offer improved water resistance.
  • Long working time to facilitate placement with high early 4-hour strengths.
  • Very low permeability for superior resistance to carbon dioxide & chloride ion penetration.
  • Suitable for use in aggressive environments where subjected to contents with a pH range of between 3–12.
  • Withstands exposure to sulfate ions without significant deterioration over time.
  • Withstands long-term exposure to environmental conditions without significant deterioration.
  • Excellent workability allows placement vertically, overhead & horizontally.
  • Open to foot traffic in 3–4 hours.
  • TMR registered for use as a repair mortar.
  • Minimal curing with water required for 3 to 4 hours only.
  • RCS free.
